Workshop Business Innovation for the Floriculture sector

As part of the INDF project, ASBINDO has organised a workshop for  companies in the floriculture sector in Jakarta and surrounding areas, that want to develop their BtB (Business to Business) market. Most Florist and traders in this area sell their products to consumers as well as to businesses. However in this workshop we focussed on the developement of the Business market. The workshop was attended by marketing managers and general managers of companies.

At the workshop ASBINDO presented the results of a indicative research on the current status of the floriculture BtB market. What products and services are currently available, who are the current customers of the BtB products, what kind of products do they need and where do they currently buy them.  One of the main conclusions of the research was: there are not many innovative products&services available at the floriculture market in Indonesia. Thus there is still a lot of potential for development.

ASBINDO also presented a variety of innovative ideas from other countries in the world, to get the creative thinking flowing (see attached a summary include links).

The second half of the workshop consisted of a structured brainstorm workshop. In small groups ideas were gathered for new products and services for the Indonesian market, the most interesting ideas were  discussed in more detail to map the commercial potential of the ideas.

All participants indicated afterwards they went home with a lot of new ideas for possible product developement within their companies.  We understand that some companies already adapted and implemented some of the ideas from the workshop.
