Description

Calla LilyZantedeschia is the scientific name of the flower known as Calla Lily (kala lilies). This trumpet-shaped flower is in great demand by flower arrangers and cut flower hobbyists. In general, the well-known white Zantedeschia aethiopica species, this species is widely planted in the highlands such as Dieng, Central Java, Batu Malang and Lembang, West Java.

This flower on average has a large stem, tall and large petals. Perfect for large flower arrangements. The durability of this cut flower is also very strong, it can last up to 5-6 days with proper care, storage in a shady place, protected from direct sunlight. For the Green Goddess variegata, it has a more durable resistance than the white Calla Lily aethiopica.

Care Tips

In the production of Calla Lily hybrids, post-harvest factors and storage of tubers for dormancy are very important. After harvesting, the remaining leaves should be allowed to turn yellow and dry for about 3-4 weeks. Then the tubers are removed, cleaned and dried. Then the bulbs are stored in a room with sufficient air circulation and humidity and low air temperature, for 2-3 months. After that the bulbs are ready to be planted for the next planting cycle. The tuber treatment technique for Calla Lily hybrids is not easy and much different from that of white and green Zantedeschia aethiopica.
