ASBINDO participated in the national horticulture exhibition, Pekan Flori dan Flora Nasional  (PF2N) held on 19-22 November 2011 in Sunrise Beach, Sanur, Bali. The exhibition was joined by more than 230 participants with as many boots in tents, and generated roughly 15.000 visitors. It was held in conjunction with the Sanur Village Festival. ASBINDO had a booth at a prominent place right in front of the ‘Horti house’ of the Department of Agriculture, which guarantees us a steady flow of visitors. Next to a variety of information brochures about ASBINDO, the benefits of membership, and the ASBINDO Training Centre, ASBINDO also facilitated meetings between floriculture businesses and prospective potential partners though a so called business matchmaking board.

On the first day of the PF2N fair, ASBINDO together with HortiPlus organised the Workshop "Boosting Sustainable Floriculture developement". The workshop included the launch of the ASBINDO business matchmaking board. More information about the board can be found in the section services at www.asbindo.org.

The following five members sponsored the ASBINDO booth and the business workshop: PT Melrimba Sentra Agrotama, PT Gardens Ciputri, PT Benara nurseries Indonesia, PT Edelweiss Cantiqa Lestari and PT East West Seed Indonesia. Their information leaflets were available in the booth, and they could attend the Hortiplus workshop for free and their logos were printed on the workshop banners.

On the second and third day, ASBINDO representatives participated in several PF2N workshop activities on subjects like: Licensing Socialization, Socialization Biological Agent, and Horticulture Business Making Business Contact. Also a meeting with ASBINDO Bali was arranged to discuss the management and activities of the ASBINDO Bali chapter. Finally ASBINDO attended an AGRINA meeting on the Horti Asia 2012 fair which will be held from 9 to 11 May 2012 in Thailand.  

In general the visitors at the ASBINDO stand were very enthusiastic about our activities and services. The Business matchmaking board was well used. At the end of the event, 70 people registered to receive the newsletter, and more than 55 entries were collected on the matchmaking board. Several visitors also expressed an interest to become member of ASBINDO. The secretariat will follow up on the leads it gathered during the fair.
